Hey Howdy Hey Theresa and welcome to planDisney!
Being an Annual Passholder for the Walt Disney World Resort comes with so many perks. Visiting the parks as often as you would like is one of the big ones! That being said, recently Disney did just update the Theme Park Reservation requirements which does impact Annual Passholders. It sounds like you have a good understanding of the basics but let's review so you can get the most out of your upcoming trip.
In general,
Annual Passholders still need to have a Theme Park Reservation when visiting the parks. This does come with some caveats though. As you mentioned, Disney is starting to update their calendar for Passholders that have
Good-To-Go Days where you do not need a reservation to enter the parks, subject to pass blackout days and park capacity. Disney also has a rule that Annual Passholders do not need theme park reservations when entering the parks after 2:00 PM EST except at Magic Kingdom Park on Saturdays and Sundays, again subject to capacity and pass blackout dates. In all other instances, Annual Passholders will need a Theme Park Reservation to enter the parks.
Theresa, if you are an Annual Passholder staying onsite at a Disney Resorts Collection Hotel, you will have the most access to reservations. You will be able to book Theme Park Reservations for the duration of your stay rather than be limited by the type of pass you hold. I am sure you are aware, but you can check the status of the parks on the
Annual Passholder Admission Calendar to make sure you have availability for the parks during your stay. The process is still the same to make reservations. Visit
Theme Park Reservations and click on the blue "Make or Modify Theme Park Reservations" to make your reservations.
I hope you can get the reservations you are looking for so you can get back to the fun of planning your upcoming vacation to the Most Magical Place on Earth! Please feel free to stop back with any other questions you may have, we are always happy to help.
Have a Magical day,
Nick
