I’m organizing a gender reveal surprise for my cousin, and wanted to do gender reveal cannons, do you allow that? Do you anythjng special for those kind of events?

    Hiya, Nazira!

Welcome to planDisney, friend! I am so excited to hear that a new Mouseketeer is joining your family. What an exciting time! A surprise gender reveal at The Most Magical Place on Earth sounds like so much fun. I cannot think of a better place to celebrate the newest addition to your family.

My personal advice would be to leave the cannons to the pirates, even if you're referring to the confetti or smoke variety. These items are prohibited and I would hate for your surprise to feel more like a sinking ship when you arrive ready to celebrate and find they cannot be used. But this doesn't mean you can't announce in style! If you would like to coordinate a private event for this celebration I recommend reaching out to the fabulous Disney Meetings and Events team. They can assist you with creating a unique event perfect for your surprise. If you are looking to create a moment filled with pixie dust, but don't quite need an event team, there are a variety of fun ways to surprise the parents to be that you can organize with ease. You could choose a Mickey or Minnie Mouse plush and place it in a gift bag to be opened at the right moment. You can also personalize the baby's first Mickey ears with the exciting announcement. You can have ears embroidered at Fantasy Faire in Magic Kingdom Park. Mickey ears can also be customized in each of the other theme parks and in Disney Springs. This is sure to be a souvenir your cousin will cherish for yEARS to come. There are also Disney PhotoPass photographers located throughout the parks that can help you capture this moment in time. Once the surprise is official, be sure to pick up a celebration button from any Guest Relations location or at your resort hotel. You can customize these buttons with the special surprise, and wearing them helps let Cast Members know that you are celebrating something truly magical.

There are also some great options in the Enchanting Extras Collection that can help you create the perfect setting for the big reveal. A personal favorite of mine is the Specialty Cruise, a private nighttime boat ride complete with beautiful views of the evening fireworks. These cruises include banners, balloons, snacks, and soft drinks creating the perfect party setting. Cruises are for up to ten Guests and must be booked in advance.

And finally, may I also suggest adding a Capture Your Moment photography session to commemorate the magical memory? These private photo shoots are designed to capture special moments and are personalized to your party's preference. You can choose any of the four theme parks as your location, and there are a variety of both iconic and unique spots to choose from to create picture-perfect shots. Each session is twenty minutes and you can book back-to-back sessions for an extended photography experience. Reservations are required and can be made online through the Walt Disney World website.

Congratulations to the entire family. I hope this moment is memorable and magical!
    We'll see ya real soon!
