Hello from a fellow technophobe, Sarah! Welcome to planDisney. I am delighted to let you know even I have successfully used the wonderful tools available that help make Walt Disney World adventures so magical.
If you haven't done so already, please download the
My Disney Experience App to your phone. By selecting 'My Profile' at the bottom of the screen, you'll see an 'Account Settings' option. You can enter a U.K. mobile number here (simply select the GB +44 and remove the first 0 from your mobile number).
In my experience, many of the notifications in the Parks occur through push notifications. Stick with me, please - I promise it's worth it to navigate the Most Magical Place on Earth! To enable push notifications on an IOS device, such as an iPhone, select 'notifications' in your 'settings' and then tap the 'Disney World' app. Toggle the 'Allow Notifications' section. If you see green, you've just enabled push notifications. If using an Android device, go to 'Settings' and open 'Apps.' Find the Disney World App and ensure your notifications are on. Once you know push notifications are enabled, you can rest assured you're ready to go. Did you know that there is
free Wi-Fi available throughout the Parks?
The My Disney Experience App is such a great help, providing access to up-to-date ride wait times, Mobile Food and Beverage orders, and much more. It's worth taking a look at it ahead of arrival.
Virtual queues are also accessed by the app, usually for the most popular, newer rides at the time, like
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind.
Sarah, I hope you have a practically perfect in every way holiday. Enjoy the magic! I realise this answer may read a little technology-heavy, so please do pop back if you have further questions! Louise.
