I'm not sure whether to make dinner reservations for every night we are at Disney. I have no idea how we'll feel that day/night. What do experienced Disneygoers suggest?

    Hi, Melissa! Welcome to planDisney!

You're speaking our language, Melissa! Your planDisney pals love to chat about all the amazing meals and tasty treats to munch on at the Walt Disney World Resort. And I totally understand how you feel. While many Guests will circle dining reservation day on their calendars and be ready to plan each meal, it's not always easy to know what you might be interested in eating weeks before your trip. But never fear, Melissa! There are lots of ways to enjoy the delicious delights on your vacation!

First, I have a question for you. Are there any dining experiences that you'd really like to try? Go ahead and reserve those must-do restaurants first, and try to be flexible if you can. Since you only have a few days until your vacation begins, some of the most popular spots may be booked up. If you're able to dine at an earlier or later time, for instance, or even try different days, you may still get a reservation for that place you've been dreaming about. On the nights you don't have a dining reservation, you can absolutely play it by "EAR."

Next, think about your dining options as one big meal per day with smaller meals or snacks at other times. Maybe you're having breakfast at Chef Mickey's one morning, so that will hold you over for quite a while. Then, dinner might be something like a hot dog from Casey's Corner or a slice of pizza from your Resort hotel food court. Every meal doesn't have to be an elaborate affair, especially with so many wonderful quick-service options that will hit the spot when you have a rumbly in your tumbly.

One more tip: Be sure to use the Mobile Ordering feature in your My Disney Experience app. It's a helpful way to explore lots of quick-service dining options, plus it's fast and easy. You'll have your food and be back to the theme park fun in no time!

I hope this helps you make the most of your Disney days (and meals), Melissa! It's been a pleasure chatting with you, and I wish you a magical Walt Disney World vacation!

    Keep Disney Dreaming,

    Kathy K.

I've lived my whole life just an hour's drive from Walt Disney World, so I've been a regular visitor for as long as I can remember. Even after all these years and so many visits, I love that there's still so much to discover! Now that I'm a mom myself, seeing my favorite place through my son's eyes has given me a whole new perspective that I enjoy sharing with other parents of young children. Learn More About Kathy
