I'm not sure where/who to send this question to, but 2 years ago when we were at Disney World, we discovered a special pass that could be used for our special needs child. I understnad that now those passes are not available. Is there something else?

Hello Heidi!  Thanks for asking your question here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

Disney is committed to providing a top notch vacation for all kinds of families and especially those with special needs.  The formerly known Guest Assistance Card has changed to the Disabilities Access Service Card.  Guests are able to request the new cards at Guests Services.  The Disney Parks Blog has a great article outlining why the change and information about the new program.  While I don't have a child with special needs, I have used the new system with a friend and I thought it worked out really well.  She did too!  I encourage you to head over to the Disney Parks Disability Access Service Card Fact Sheet, that I have linked to, for all the details.

If you have any other questions, we are happy to help.  Have a magical day!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
