Hello Terri!
Welcome to
planDisney! Thanks for stopping by as you prepare for your unforgettable
Walt Disney World adventure. It looks like you arrive in just a couple of days; you must be so excited! Let's talk about dining plans.
Dining plans can only be added to Walt Disney World vacation packages that bundle an
onsite resort stay and
theme park tickets. Unfortunately, an offsite reservation is not eligible for a dining plan.
I know this differs from what you hoped to hear, but if the pre-paid aspect of dining appeals to you, consider purchasing Disney Gift Cards in the amount you plan to spend on meals. They are accepted at all quick-service restaurants in theme parks and resorts and most quick-service locations at
Disney Springs. Check your local big box retailer like Costco or Target for occasional deals or bulk discounts on Disney Gift Cards. If you have several cards, you can combine them (as long as the total funds for one card is $1000 or less) at
this website.
Since you're interested in quick-service dining, I'll share a few of my favorite places to have a casual meal in the Walt Disney World theme parks before I go.
I like
Columbia Harbour House for a meal in
Magic Kingdom Park and
Sleepy Hollow for snacks and waffle sandwiches.
Casey's Corner is a good pick if you enjoy hot dogs. One of my favorite sweet treats is the cream cheese warm stuffed pretzel at the
Lunching Pad.
In EPCOT, my family likes the tranquility of
Katsura Grill in the Japan pavilion and the lagoon views from
La Cantina de San Angel.
Sunshine Seasons is an excellent option to escape afternoon heat or rain showers.
Docking Bay 7 Food & Cargo is my preferred quick-service spot in
Disney's Hollywood Studios. You'll feel like you stepped into a
Star Wars film!
The quick-service game at
Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park is strong. I have a tough time deciding between
Satu'li Canteen and
Flame Tree Barbecue. They're both fantastic and offer items you don't typically find in theme parks.
I hope this is helpful, Terri! Have a wonderful vacation with your son, and come see us again if there's anything we can do to make future Disney adventures even more memorable.
Wishing you a magical day,
Betsy
