Galactic greetings to you, Deborah, and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I sense the Force is strong with you.
I’m so excited for you to travel to the far, far away galaxy of Batuu soon!
Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge is unlike anything I've experienced at the
Disneyland Resort so far! And what could be better than experiencing Savi’s Workshop, and building your own custom lightsaber! I have good news – yes, you can have your lightsaber shipped to your home, even if you aren’t staying at a
Disneyland Resort hotel. Simply let one of the Gatherers (Cast Members at Savi’s Workshop) know that you’d prefer to have your lightsaber shipped, and they’ll take care of it while you’re making your purchase.
If you prefer to travel with your lightsaber, I have heard of some Galaxy’s Edge fans bringing their lightsaber as their carry-on, and storing it in the overhead compartment of their airplane. The 31” lightsaber blade can be removed from the hilt (the base) so that helps make this possible. It’s always a good idea to call your airline ahead of time to make sure that should work for you, if you choose to bring the lightsaber with you.
Have you heard the new rules for reserving a spot at Savi’s Workshop? Here’s how it works: On the day that you plan to visit Savi’s Workshop – Handbuilt Lightsabers, you can make an
online reservation (or on the
Disneyland app) as early as 7:00 AM Pacific Time. Have your credit card number handy, since it’s required at the time of booking. Be sure to have your reservation confirmation, photo ID, and the credit card provided at booking when it’s your turn to check in at Savi’s Workshop.
If you’re having trouble getting a reservation, I recommend you use the Force, and keep trying! I have heard of Guests attempting to nab a reservation several times before they were able to get a spot.
Also, if you’re hoping to check out the local watering hole, Oga’s Cantina, during your journey to Batuu, you’ll want to
make a reservation on the day of your arrival. Just like at Savi’s Workhop, reservations are released daily at 7:00 AM Pacific Time. I had the chance to sip a bubbling Bespin Fizz just last week, and it was delicious!
Wishing you a magical adventure to Batuu… may the Force be with you!
