I'm not the hugest fan of Star Wars but I do want to ride Rise of the Resistance when I visit Disneyland in December. Are there any shows in particular on Disney+ that I should watch to become well-versed enough?

Greetings, Justin! Thank you for jumping to lightspeed on over to planDisney with your question.

I am so excited that you'll visit the Disneyland Resort later this year, and I love that you want to fully experience Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance with some background Star Wars knowledge. The ride is a journey not to be missed and, even if you don't jump into the Star Wars galaxy before your trip, you will have loads of fun experiencing it. However, I am always excited about background research, so my suggestion is to start by watching Star Wars: The Force Awakens.  The movie introduces Rey, Kylo Ren, and the First Order to the Star Wars galaxy - all of whom are heavily featured in the Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance attraction.

Justin, you could stop there and have plenty of knowledge to understand the ride's premise. However, if you want an A+ in Star Wars prep and to feel one with the Force, you could also watch the two films that follow Star Wars: The Force Awakens - Star Wars: The Last Jedi and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. All of these movies are currently on Disney+ and could be watched in marathon movie night or over a weekend. By the time you finish this trilogy, you will be ready to tackle all of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge like a pro!

During your visit to the planet of Batuu, stop by Oga's Cantina for some refreshments and galactic beats by DJ R-3X, and check out Dok-Ondar's Den of Antiquities for some unique out-of-this-galaxy souvenirs. I hope that you'll love this immersive and wondrous planet as much as I do!

Justin, thanks again for stopping by planDisney. We hope that you'll visit again! If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask me directly. I am happy to help!

May the Force Be With You,
    Melissa
