I'm a new AP! I was wondering how the AP discount works with dining discounts. Do you show your AP card before you order? Or is your AP account linked to your magic band and the discount automatically applied when the band is scanned for payment? TIA!

    Hi Joni!

Congratulations on becoming a Walt Disney World Annual Passholder and welcome to the club!  I just love the flexibility of being a Passholder and visiting my favorite vacation destination any time I'd like.

One of the many great perks as a Passholder are the fabulous discounts!  Every time I have used my Passholder discount at a restaurant, I have been asked to show my Passholder card and photo ID and I do let our server at Table-Service restaurants or the Cast Member taking my order at Quick-Service restaurants know at the beginning that I am a Passholder. I have heard that some retail locations do not require the cards to be shown, but that has never been my experience, so I always suggest bringing them with you just in case.  Once I had lost my card and was told I could pull it up on the My Disney Experience mobile app, which worked just fine.

Passholders are also eligible for room-only discounts at the Walt Disney World Resort hotels.  Since your annual pass is already linked to your My Disney Experience, you will not be required to show proof of pass when you check-in.

    Have a magical day!
