I'm going by myself to the California parks and want to meet the characters. Am I allowed to ask cast member to use my phone to take a photo?

    Hiya Keyla,

Welcome to planDisney! There is something about taking pictures at Disneyland Resort! If I ask my family to take photos on any typical day, I get groans and complaints, but they are smiling and ready to go at Disneyland. It must be the Disney PhotoPass Photographers' special touch!

There is no official policy regarding Disney PhotoPass Photographers using your personal mobile device to take photos for you, so it is ultimately up to the discretion of each individual Cast Member. In my opinion, it never hurts to ask the question; the worst they can say is no.

When I used to visit the Theme Parks on my own, I always found it helpful to have Disney Genie+ service Keyla. When you are in line for attractions with family or friends, the time seems to go by quickly, but when you are solo, it seems much longer. Disney Genie+ can help you spend less time in line and more time having fun during your visit. I know you hadn't mentioned wanting to ride any attractions during your visit, but I bring this up because when you purchase Disney Genie+ service, you also get unlimited downloads of your attraction photos! This is perfect for a solo trip because you no longer have to worry about whether or not someone can take your pictures for you with your mobile device.

I hope this was helpful, Keyla! Have a magical day and please come back and see us if you need anything else.

    Happy Planning,

    Ashley F.
