Hey Kim!
I am so happy to welcome you to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. Thank you for sending us your fantastic question.
I am also a “plus-sized” mom, or what I lovingly refer to as “Pooh-Sized”. As a fellow Pooh-sized mom, I can completely sympathize with your worries. Please rest assured that even at my highest weight (well over 200 pounds, size 22w) I never had any issues fitting into
Walt Disney World Resort Attractions with my daughter. I am always able to secure all harnesses and lap bars. The only Attraction that feels “tight” around the thighs is
Seven Dwarfs Mine Train at Magic Kingdom Park. The reason that this Attraction is a snug fit is because of the molded seats, but I assure you that I have thoroughly enjoyed it every time we visit Walt Disney World Resort. It is our absolute favorite!
Test Track at Epcot has a “test seat” near the exit area. If it makes you feel more comfortable, you can approach a Cast Member at the entrance and they can discreetly let you try it. I have never had any issues on this Attraction, not even at my largest size.
Mom’s Tip: I encourage you to do a Google search for “plus size Disney” or “Pooh size Disney” where you will find a plethora of websites dedicated to this very topic. It will greatly ease your mind to read stories, see pictures and learn about other Pooh-sized Disney Guest experiences.
Kim, I wish you and your son an unforgettable Walt Disney World Resort vacation. If you have any more questions, I am always here to help you.
With Lots of Disney Magic,
Priscila
