Hi 😊 I’m going to MK with 13 of us total. Can we all link up to reserve rides together?

    Hi Kris, welcome to planDisney!

Your baker's dozen will have the best time experiencing attractions together at Walt Disney World Resort. Fun fact - I was recently at Disney's Hollywood Studios and the wait time for The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror was 13 minutes, which meant there was little to no wait for this attraction. The only other place you'll ever see a 13-minute wait time is The Haunted Mansion at Magic Kingdom Park.

Speaking of low wait times, Disney Genie+ service grants Guests access to Lightning Lane entrances at over 20 attractions at Magic Kingdom Park. You can purchase Disney Genie+ service any time after midnight each park day via the Tip Board of the My Disney Experience mobile app (three small lines at the bottom right of the home page --> Tip Board). I recommend purchasing by 6:45 a.m. so you can book your first Genie+ Lighting Lane attraction at 7:00 a.m. At this time, you can book Lightning Lane attractions for up to 12 members of your Family and Friends list with valid admission, a theme park reservation, and Genie+ linked to their My Disney Experience account. Unfortunately, this means you cannot book Lighting Lane attractions for your thriving 13 all at once. What you can do is divide and conquer. Let me explain.

In your group of 13, I recommend breaking up into two or three smaller groups and assigning each group a Lightning Lane captain. Lighting Lane captains must have the My Disney Experience mobile app downloaded to their mobile device, be connected with their assigned group (and ideally the entire party) as Family and Friends, and desire to make magic happen. At 7:00 a.m., the Lightning Lane captains book the first Genie+ Lightning Lane attraction for their assigned group via the Tip Board of the My Disney Experience app (scroll to the desired attraction and click the "LL Disney Genie+" button). The second step of the reservation process is where they'll confirm the members of their party. Decide what the first attraction will be before 7:00 a.m. and everyone's one-hour arrival windows should overlap, even if they're not exactly the same. I do not recommend one person booking for six and then going back to book for the other six because arrival windows fill up quickly and you may not get overlapping windows.

Depending on your situation, the Lightning Lane captains can either book their group's next Genie+ Lightning Lane attraction when the first reservation is redeemed or two hours after park opening. The time will also appear on your Tip Board banner. They can continue booking Lighting Lane attractions throughout the day, maximizing your party's time in the park.

I hope this is helpful information, Kris. Please return to planDisney with any other trip-planning questions.
