Hi all!! Im in the midst of planning our 1st family vacation! I feel a bit overwhelmed! My main ?? is which resort in your personal opinion is great to stay at with a 4 yr old boy and 12 yr old girl! I am looking at all possibilites! Thanks!

Hi Terri!  I am sure if you ask each one of us on the panel you will get different responses from us all. The options at Walt Disney World are tremendous and wonderful and you can't go wrong at any of the resorts.  A lot will depend on budgets which is why they offer the three categories for the resorts.

My all time favorite resort is the Yacht and Beach Club located within five minutes of the International Gateway entrance to EPCOT. It is also within walking distance (1 mile walking path) to Hollywood Studios and sits across the illuminating Boardwalk area.  These resorts share the pool area called Stormalong Bay which is considered by many the best resort pool on property.  It is large and well designed with a large pirate ship slide as well as sandy bottomed shallow areas for the toddlers.  It is hard to get my three year old grandson to come out of the pool to go to the parks.....he loves sitting in the water and playing with the sand!

The Beach Club also has a child care club which both of your children would qualify to attend (ages4-12) if you chose to have a dinner out and an evening in EPCOT.

My suggestion for the moderate resorts is the Port Orleans.  The new pirate rooms at the Caribbean Beach are really special but for an overall favorite the Port Orleans is my choice.

For a value resort I would choose Pop Century.  This is a very children centered resort but it is also the newest and sometimes I feel gets more families versus the large groups that can come in when sports and dancing competitions are being held at Wide World of Sports
