Hello Alison and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.
You've made me doubly happy because I'm not only assisting you, a fellow Brit with their holiday plans to visit Walt Disney World Resort but also getting to talk about one of my favourite spots on Disney property
Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort where the
rootin' tootin' good time Mickey's Backyard BBQ is held!
Although it's usually possible to collect tickets for Mickey's Backyard BBQ at any
Guest Relations I find it's just as easy to collect them directly from the event entrance when you arrive; I prefer this way so that I'm not worried about losing them when I'm carrying them around in the Disney Theme Parks.
It's worth remembering that Guests attending Mickey's Backyard BBQ are encouraged to arrive at least 40 minutes prior to showtime and as I expect you already know, Walt Disney World Resort is a large place therefore it's advisable to allow plenty of time to travel between Disney destinations. After all, you are on holiday and don't want any unnecessary stress!
If arriving by car after visiting a Disney Theme Park; I would prepare to leave the park at least
2 hours prior to your Advanced Dining Reservation time. This should provide extra time for collecting your car, plus driving and parking in the main parking lot in the
Outpost Depot at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort before transferring to one of the Resort's internal buses which is heading down to the
Settlement Depot where the
Backyard Pavilion is located.
Have a great Disney day.
~ Jane
