I’m making my first solo trip in a few weeks. I’m staying off property & have a lunch reservation @ Kona. Would it be a good idea to take Uber to lunch & then monorail to MK & will that keep me from having to stand in line @ security @ MK?

Hi Donna and welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms panel!

I have taken a few solo trips to Walt Disney World Resort and absolutely loved the freedom! I hope you will have the same experience. If you were planning to drive yourself to the parks, I would suggest parking at the Magic Kingdom Park and taking the Monorail to Kona Cafe at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. Since you will be arriving by other transportation, I agree that going straight to Kona Cafe is probably your best bet.

As for security, you will have to go through a Security Check. The difference is you will go through a Security Check before you board the Monorail to depart from Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. They have now set up screening points at each of the resort hotels served by the Monorail.

Donna, thank you for visiting us again with another question. I hope you'll let us know if we can help you with any additional questions.
    Wishing you a magical vacation,
    Amy H.
