Krysten from FL Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

I'm going to the Magic Kingdom in a couple weeks- will they accept a receipt from the social security office from when I got a replacement social security card as proof of residency? I haven't been able to update my ID yet!

Hi Krysten! Welcome to planDisney, where we strive to answer all of your Disney vacation planning questions.

There are usually some great offers for residents of the Sunshine State at the Walt Disney World Resort. You'll usually find ticket offers, hotel offers, and even Annual Passholder offers at various times of the year. When planning a visit, always check the Florida Residents Offer page to see what's available. You never know what might speak to you!

At this time, a receipt from the social security office does not appear to be accepted as proof of residency. Acceptable forms of proof of residency are a valid Florida driver’s license (must have a Florida address), a valid Florida state-issued ID card (must have a Florida address), or a valid Florida-based military ID. If you do not have one of these forms, you can use a valid government-issued picture ID (passport, driver's license, state identification card) along with a piece of acceptable documentation from within the last two months that shows a Florida residential address. Such acceptable documentation can be found on the website's Proof of Florida Residence page. On the day of your visit, you can visit Guest Relations outside the park to show your documentation before entering.

Krysten, you're going to love your visit to Magic Kingdom Park. If you have not yet ridden the new high-speed rollercoaster TRON Lightcycle / Run presented by Enterprise, you are surely going to want to get digitized onto the Grid! With your valid theme park admission and Theme Park Reservation (required for all ticket types until January 9, 2024), you will be able to try your hand at joining the Virtual Queue for this attraction at 7 a.m. through the My Disney Experience mobile app. If you do not get a Boarding Group in the morning, you can try again at 1 p.m. Just keep in mind that for the afternoon drop, you will need to be in the park to be eligible for a Boarding Group, whereas you can try in the morning from anywhere! You can also purchase an Individual Lightning Lane to choose when you'd like to ride (subject to availability). This is always my recommendation because I like to ride this attraction at night and, if available, you can choose a nighttime ride time with an Individual Lightning Lane purchase.

If you have any other questions, please feel free to reach out again. We're always happy to help make some magic!

Sometimes you gotta get through your fear to get to the beauty on the other side,
