Hi im looking at staying at the cabins fort wilderness in 2020. Do we pay for car parking there and at the parks each day if we drive. Do parks offer any closer to entrance parking for child with autism?

    Hi Erika!

Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel! The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground are a great choice for families! They sleep up to 6, have a full kitchen, and offer more space and privacy than many other accommodations.

There is an overnight parking fee for Resort Guests staying in the The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. However, as Resort Guests, if you choose to drive to the theme parks, you will not incur an additional charge to park there. Theme park parking is included for all Walt Disney World Resort Hotel Guests! Disney offers many services to Guests with disabilities. If you currently have a Disabled Person’s Parking Card from Ireland, or if a Guest has a valid Handicap Parking Permit here in the United States, there are designated parking areas available closer to the park entrances that would be included. There is also a paid, premium parking area closer to the entrance for Guests who do not hold such a permit but wish to purchase this option.

Depending on how your child does with strangers and crowds, you may wish to consider using Disney’s Complimentary transportation services. From Orlando International, Disney provides transportation to your resort with Disney’s Magical Express! Once at your resort, there are buses available to all four theme parks as well as boat service to Magic Kingdom from Fort Wilderness. If you feel this type of transportation would work for your child, you could avoid the cost of a rental car altogether.

I hope you’ll come back to us with additional questions as you get ready for your visit, Erika! We love to help.

    Happy Planning!
