I'm looking to stay at a 1 bedroom DVC villa at the Boardwalk this September. I've heard there are on-going renovations there. Will the rooms be complete by then, and will any pools or activities be affected at that time.

    Hiya, Danielle!

Welcome Home and welcome to planDisney! I am so excited to hear you are thinking of planning a Disney vacation at one of my favorite Disney Vacation Club Resorts, Disney's BoardWalk Villas.  Our family loves all of the amenities that come with staying in a Villa, including extra space for all the Mouseketeers in your party, a full-sized kitchen with all the gadgets and gizmos you need, and my personal favorite, the in-room washer and dryer.  Plus, the central location of Disney's BoardWalk means both EPCOT and Disney's Hollywood Studios are just around the riverbend from your Resort.

Danielle, I did a bit of searching and you are correct. Refurbishments and some general maintenance upkeep are taking place at Disney's BoardWalk Villas.  The areas affected include some of the Guest rooms, the Lobby, and a few other areas, though most amenities should be available.  There is also maintenance taking place as of January 31st on the waterslide at the Luna Park Pool.  While the pool areas for Luna Park Pool and the leisure pool are open for Guests to enjoy, the slide is presently closed.

However, if you are on the hunt for waterslides, definitely check out one of Disney's Waterparks.  Eligible Disney Vacation Club Members receive a discount on waterpark tickets, which is another benefit of Disney Vacation Club Membership.

Unfortunately, Danielle, we don't have information yet as to how long these enhancements will take at Disney's BoardWalk Villas or if they will be ongoing in September for your arrival.  If it is still underway in September, you may see or hear some construction while the crew works their magic, however, most amenities should be available.

I recommend keeping an eye on the Disney website and Disney Parks Blog for any updates, and you can always check with Member Services prior to your arrival for an update on the renovations.  I'm sorry I don't have more details at this time, but I hope this has helped provide a bit more information for you.

If you have any additional questions about Disney Vacation Club or any further Disney vacation planning questions, stop back and see me here. I'll be so happy to help you because you've got a friend in me!

    See ya real soon!
