Hi moms! I'm looking for something special to do one evening in late Sep with my son (7) while Dad and big brother are out. We're already doing TTFDP and Pirates League, plus MNSSHP. I was hoping for something a little less pirate-y. Any suggestions?

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel Sarah ~

I love going to Disney with my boys and having "date" nights with each of them. I would suggest an evening at Downtown Disney.

One of my boys' favorite places to eat is T-Rex. They love playing in the Paleo Zone while we wait for our table. And we of course have to stop in the Dino-Store on our way out.

After dinner, head to the LEGO Imagination Center. They have lots of hands on things to do but don't be surprised if you walk out with a new LEGO purchase.

We also make a stop at Once Upon A Toy. The boys love to play at the great Mr. Potato Head section. If your son is a Star Wars fan, he can build his own lightsaber or Droid there.

Splitsville (upscale bowling) is also a really fun place to bowl and have dinner. The food there is really quite good.

We also love taking a ride on Character in Flight.

There is often live entertainment outside at Downtown Disney. Pick up a Times Guide at a Downtown Disney merchandise or Guests Relations location that will list some of the Entertainment hours.

Disney's BoardWalk is another great option.

Playing a round of miniature golf at either Fantasia Gardens and Fairways Miniature Golf or Winter Summerland Miniature Golf is a relaxing way to spend an evening.

Please feel free to visit us with all of your planning questions. We're hEAR for you!

Wishing you minnie magical memories :-) Allison V.
