I’m looking to secure a slot in the 2025 dopey challenge . If I purchase a club run Disney membership will the dopey challenge be considered my one guaranteed slot? Or does Disney treat the dopey challenge as 4 different races? thank you

    Hi there, Paul!

Welcome to planDisney. I'm so honored that you decided to bring me your question about Club runDisney! The Dopey Challenge is the gauntlet of runDisney Challenges, and finishers accrue an impressive six sparkling medals for their efforts. Paul, while I have yet to take on the Dopey Challenge, it's on my runDisney bucket list, and I'm happy to help you begin your Dopey journey!

Club runDisney is a fantastic way for runDisney enthusiasts to get a head start on race weekend registrations. With a Club runDisney Gold Membership, you're guaranteed the ability to purchase one race registration per annual race weekend through early registration. As a Club runDisney Platinum Member, you'll receive up to two race registrations per race weekend. Club runDisney Silver Members do not receive guaranteed early registration as part of their membership. Paul, the Dopey Challenge is made up of four separate races, but participants purchase a single "challenge" registration. If you're hoping to register for the Dopey Challenge as part of the 2025 Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend, you'll want to register for Club runDisney during the 2023-2024 Membership period. Unfortunately, at this time, it appears that Platinum and Gold Memberships are sold out (membership sales for 2023-2024 opened in late May 2023), but a Cast Member confirmed that these memberships may reopen periodically.

Paul, let me assure you that it's still possible to obtain runDisney race registration without Club runDisney membership. Here is my best advice for a successful runDisney race registration experience during the general registration period:

    • On the runDisney website, log into your Disney account just before race registration is set to open (usually 10:00 a.m. Eastern). You can do this by hovering over the "Help & Support" tab and selecting "Manage Account."
    • Have your credit card details typed into a note or document on your computer. When it's time to submit payment, simply copy and paste the details into the form.
    • Navigate to the "Weekend Overview" tab of the event you're hoping to register for approximately 15 minutes prior to race registration opening. You'll likely see the "Registration Opening Soon" text change to a green button allowing you to "Register Now" just before go-time!
    • At 10:00 a.m. on the dot (refer to an official world clock), select "Register Now" and proceed (quickly but calmly) through the registration form.
I hope you find this information helpful, Paul. Sometimes, it seems like runDisney race registration is more challenging than the event itself! However, it'll all be worth it when you're toting your six shiny medals around the theme parks following your victorious Dopey Challenge completion. It's always wonderful to chat with fellow Michiganders and runDisney enthusiasts, so please feel free to reach out to me directly again anytime. I'm wishing you miles and miles of magic!

    Finish strong,
