Hi there! I’m looking at planning a visit for my sons 3rd birthday next year, I know before a certain age they are free to enter the parks but I can’t remember what age that is. Also, if he turns 3 while there do I then have to buy a ticket for those days?

    Hi Mackenzie!

Your son's birthday is the perfect reason to plan a visit to Walt Disney World Resort. The theme parks, Disney Resort hotels and Disney Springs are so magical that they will be a fantastic backdrop for your son's celebration. We visited Walt Disney World Resort for my son's third birthday and he had such a special vacation. Be sure to consider adding Memory Maker to your trip so you can capture and save all of the magical memories you make together!

Guests who are 2 years old and under are special Guests of Mickey Mouse himself and receive complimentary admission to the Walt Disney World Resort theme parks and do not require theme park tickets. Also, Guests don't age during a Walt Disney World Resort vacation. So if your son will be 2 years old at the start of your trip, he will be considered 2 years old for the duration of your trip, even if he celebrates his birthday during your vacation. So I recommend that you plan on starting your vacation before his birthday so his admission can be complementary, which will save you a little bit of money to use towards extra souvenEARs and Dole Whips!

Be sure to pick up a complimentary birthday button for your son from any theme park Guest Relations location or your Disney Resort hotel front desk so Cast Members and other Guests can help your son celebrate. T-T-F-N, ta ta for now!
