Hello …I’m looking into planning a trip to Disney in sept I was wondering if you could tell me when the park would be fully decorated for the Halloween season.

Welcome, Foolish Mortal! Cathi, I'm glad you pulled your doom buggy up planDisney to ask this question about the most haunting time of the year at the Most Magical Place on Earth.

I haven't seen an official date of when the decorations will be up at Walt Disney World Resort, but Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party will start delighting ghouls, goblins, superheroes and princesses starting August 9. With this spelltacular event underway before your visit, you should expect Magic Kingdom Park to be dressed to the occasion.

This season is packed with so many reasons to celebrate being at Walt Disney World. Like you, I love the decorations. How many videos can a person have of the glimmering pumpkin lampposts on Main Street, U.S.A.? As the Ghost Host says, "There is always room for one more."

The scarecrows traditionally standing near the American Flag on Main Street, U.S.A. are a welcome sight each year. And then there's Liberty Square. This whole area just comes alive with quintessential Americana (and a Haunted House) as it celebrates the harvest season.

One of my favorite places to visit is the Main Street Confectionery. To me, nothing says fall like a caramel apple. This sweet spot has the most amazing apples that add layers of chocolate and candy decorations to the traditional treat. Plus, they always bake up something special to celebrate the season. Thinking of food, Minnie should also be offering her autumnal favorites at Hollywood & Vine for a wonderful character dining experience.

The World Showcase will be celebrating EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival during your visit. Although not Halloween, this festival should tempt your sweet (and savory) tooth. And of course, Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is the ultimate in Halloween fun. From the Headless Horseman riding by Cinderella Castle to Disney's Not-So-Spooky Spectacular of fireworks, the party is Halloween to the nines!

Be sure to keep an eye on the Disney Parks Blog for updates on all the details of the tricks and treats coming to Walt Disney World. It truly is the most magical time!

Please come back to planDisney with any other questions as you plan your adventure.

    Boo to You!
