Hi! I'm looking at planning my family's first WDW visit. Family going will be my husband and me, daughter (13), son (11), and my parents. I'm looking at deluxe resorts and don't really know where to begin. Are there rooms to fit all of us in with privacy?

Hi Chanda! The Deluxe resorts are indeed wonderful. They will cost more but will come with more amenities such as better and bigger pools, more dining options at the resort, and location-location-location!

Looking at the ages of your children you might enjoy booking a resort in the Epcot area where you can walk to the Epcot park and walk or boat to Hollywood Studios. That would leave only needing to bus to the Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom. The Yacht and Beach Club resorts are proud to say they have the best pool facility on property. That alone is a big draw for these two locations.

If you are wanting to have all six of you in one room/place then your best bet will be the Deluxe Villa properties. You can book a two bedroom villa which will give you a master bedroom and bath, second bedroom with two queens or queen and queen pull out sofa and bath, living room with pull out sofa, full kitchen, and laundry facilities inside the room. This would be your best bet to give everyone some privacy yet still be together. Having the kitchen is nice for breakfasts, light lunches and snacks. The following are the Villa properties: Beach Club, Boardwalk, Bay Lake Tower (Contemporary), Wilderness Lodge, and Animal KIngdom. Availability can be tight so as soon as you know your dates you need to call reservations to see if something is open for you. Each site is outstanding and just depends on what location you enjoy or theme that appeals to you.

Beyond a villa your choices are the very expensive suites in the deluxe resorts or getting connecting rooms in one of the resorts. Only two rooms could connect but the third could possibly be adjoining (next door) if they can work out the room block for you. When traveling with a family group the important thing is to consider the bathrooms....hard to share one when you are all trying to get ready at the same time!
