Hi! I’m looking to plan a trip to Disneyland. Ages 3 and up require tickets, right? If I go on her birthday — the day she turns 3 — do I need to buy her a ticket? I’d love to go on her actual birthday, but not if it costs an extra ticket.

Magical greetings, Rebecca! And happy almost birthday to your little one!

You are correct, Disneyland Guests ages 3 and older require a valid admission ticket to enter the theme park tickets. So if you head to the Disneyland Resort on your daughter's birthday, you need to have a valid theme park ticket and park reservation for her.

Whenever you decide to visit for your daughter's birthday, know that you can celebrate her birthday with some fun extra touches, like a complimentary Birthday Button that you can pick up from City Hall on Main Street, U.S.A. in Disneyland Park or at Guest Services in Disney California Adventure Park. Rebecca, when my kids were young, I always loved buying a birthday balloon and having a quick photo session in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle. Those pictures are some that I still treasure!

Be sure to download the Disneyland Mobile App before your visit so you can use the interactive park map to find rides and attractions that are perfect for her age, height, and more. From the app home screen, click the pin icon on the bottom of the home screen. From there, click "Filter" in the top left and you can discover rides that would be perfectly magical for your birthday girl!

I hope this information helps, Rebecca. Please let us know if you need any more planning help!

    See you real soon,
    Melissa
