Hi. I'm looking to take my little boy to a theme park for the first time in 1/2017 for his birthday. He will then be 5 years old. I want to only do one park and return each year for a different one. Which park would be the best to start, Magic Kingdom?

Hi Kenitra! We usually get questions about how to do all four parks in one visit and love your idea of coming each year to add another park to your son's experience.

I would definitely start with the Magic Kingdom as your first park. It is the magic of Disney all wrapped up in one location. The choice of attractions for a five year old is greater here as well with the new Fantasyland being a large draw for the younger set. There are two beginner roller coasters for him, The Goofy's Barnstormer and the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. He would love to meet Mickey Mouse who will actually hold a conversation with him. There are fun rides such as Jungle Cruise and Pirates of the Caribbean that will draw his interest.

If he is a little pirate consider booking a reservation for the Pirates League in the park where he can become a true pirate with the look complete with a pirate costume. Even getting a simple hair trim in the Main Street Barbershop is a fun experience.

Consider all that I have mentioned and then include the fabulous parades in the park during the day hours and again in the evening and this makes this a truly very special Disney experience. Top the day off and watch the beautiful fireworks at the end.  Your problem won't be if you will have a great first trip to Walt Disney World but instead it will be for your second trip......you will also want to return to the Magic Kingdom when you add the second park!
