Allegra from FL Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

I'm looking for information on walking trails at WDW. We are new DVC members, wondering what trails there are, and if it's possible to walk all the way around Seven Seas Lagoon and/or Bay Lake now with the completion of the path from MK to GF.

Hey there, Allegra! Welcome to planDisney and let me offer you a warm Welcome Home! I am so happy that you've stopped by with your vacation planning question and am so thrilled to be chatting with a new fellow Disney Vacation Club Member! WOOHOO! Congratulations, friend!

In just days, you'll be arriving at The Most Magical Place on Earth, ready to begin your first magical adventure as a Disney Vacation Club Member! That is SO exciting, Allegra, and I am SO happy for you! A couple of my favorite things about being a DVC Member are being able to enjoy the fabulous accommodations and amenities of the DVC Resorts and knowing that my next pixie-dusted vacation is always right around the corner. Knowing that you will return to Walt Disney World Resort soon allows you to slow down, relax, take it all in, and enjoy the leisurely side of a Walt Disney World Resort vacation. One of my family's favorite ways to start a Disney day is with a jog, walk, or bike ride on the beautiful trails at the Resorts, so, you have come to the right place, and I am more than happy to answer your question today.

At the Disney Vacation Club Resorts at Walt Disney World Resort, there are fantastic walking/jogging trails at Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort, The Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, Disney's Polynesian Villas & Bungalows, Disney's BoardWalk Villas, Disney's Beach Club Villas, Disney's Riviera Resort, Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa, and Disney's Old Key West Resort. Just look for the Running Trail signs outside of your Resort for a map of the trail with the route and mileage.

While you can now walk from Bay Lake Tower to the Grand Floridian and then the Polynesian via the Magic Kingdom Park paths, you will have to turn around at the Polynesian and walk back the way from which you came or hop a monorail back, as there is no walking path from the Polynesian back to Bay Lake Tower. Just be aware that you will have to go through the security checkpoints when walking from Bay Lake Tower and the Grand Floridian to Magic Kingdom Park, and you will pass right in front of the Magic Kingdom Park turnstiles. I actually did this walk on my last trip, and it was as magical as it was beautiful!

My two favorite walking trails are at Disney's BoardWalk Villas and Beach Club Villas, as well as Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa. I love jogging around Crescent Lake, on the BoardWalk, and then over to Disney's Hollywood Studios and back. You can even walk over to the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin for more great views! The trail at Saratoga Springs Resort is just so serene, beautiful, and themed to perfection, as it is marked in furlong instead of miles. How fun is that?! My favorite part of that trail is the amazing view of Disney Springs from across Lake Buena Vista behind Congress Park. It is seriously the perfect peaceful spot right in the middle of the magic.

Did you know that you can also rent bikes to explore Disney's BoardWalk Villas, Disney's Old Key West Resort, Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa, and Disney's Wilderness Lodge?! This is such a fun and relaxing way to explore your beautiful new home away from home. Keep an eye on the DVC Offers & Benefits webpage to check for ever-changing discounts on rentals!

Allegra, I hope this was helpful, and I hope you have the most magical first stay with your magical Membership! Please feel free to stop by any time with any vacation planning or DVC questions. When I was new to DVC, I had a ton of questions, so, just ask me! You've got a friend in me!

I hope to see ya real soon,

    Mandy
