Hello, Erin!
Thank you for visiting planDisney with your upcoming Disney World vacation question. You and your family will thoroughly enjoy staying at
Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, and what’s not to love? I can go on and on with palm trees, sandy beaches, tiki torches, and watching
Happily Ever After over Seven Seas Lagoon, Tonga Toast, DOLE Whips!
To check the hours of the Magic Kingdom, head to the
Hours & Events Calendar, change the date to match your visit, select the Theme Park you want to visit, and the
Early Entry time, Park Hours, Special Ticketed Event Hours (if any), and
Extended Evening Hours (if offered) will all populate. A quick scan of August shows that the Magic Kingdom Early Entry hours are 8:30 AM to 9 AM, but I would double check as your vacation gets closer to confirm.
As for which mode of
complimentary transportation you should utilize to take advantage of Early Entry and when you should start your journey beyond the Polynesian’s reef to the shores of Magic Kingdom, you have two options. You can ride high in the sky via the Walt Disney World Monorail or by water taxi. I would aim to be at the Magic Kingdom 30 minutes before Early Entry officially begins, allowing you to be one of the first Guests in line to enter the Park.
The Resort Monorail officially operates 30 minutes before the Magic Kingdom opens for Early Entry. However, I have seen it running as much as 45 minutes before opening.
On the other hand, the
water taxi begins operating 45 minutes before Early Entry hours, but it also depends on weather and water conditions. With all this in mind, I suggest starting your day with a cup of coffee and being in line for the monorail an hour before early entry begins. This should get you to the gates of Magic Kingdom with plenty of time!
I hope this answers your question, Erin. If you’d like help planning your day in the Magic Kingdom, like which rides to enjoy at certain times or snacking suggestions,
submit me another question!
Cheers,
Brent
