Hi. I'm looking for ideas for a special way to celebrate my son's 6th birthday when we're in Disney in early January. Thanks for any suggestions!

Hi, Joanna!  It's pretty awesome that he gets to celebrate his birthday at Walt Disney World!

There are a few different things you might want to do to make it a bit more magical!  Everyone I've ever taken to the Pirates and Pals Fireworks Voyage has a blast - and they do recognize each birthday being celebrated.  The party gets started with a snack buffet at the Contemporary Resort, and then takes to the water for a voyage out to the best view of the Wishes Fireworks from the Magic Kingdom.  You may even get up close and personal with the Electrical Water Pageant!  You'll also get to meet some of your favorite pirates and maybe your favorite lost boy!

Another idea for the pirate lover is the Pirates League.  He can choose a pirate makeover that will have him threatening to make people walk the plank!  They do a great job, and it's loads of fun!

You might want to do a behind the scenes tour, like the Family Magic Tour.  This is an interactive experience that my kids have enjoyed at almost any age.

You can order a birthday cake from the cake hotline 407-827-225.  They can do a standard cake, arrange for something special, and even deliver it to a restaurant.  There are also a number of gifts available through The Disney Florist.

I hope you have a wonderful vacation!
