Hiya Maria!
Welcome to planDisney! Thank you so much for your question! To help with your question I asked my kids what were their favorite Walt Disney World Resort Hotels and I hope that it helps you in your decision making. I don't know what your budget is but I have selected one from each of the three categories: Deluxe Resort Hotel, Moderate Resort Hotel, and Value Resort Hotel.
Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge Imagine a Resort where just outside your window you can see wild animals walking around enjoying their day. The pool is 11,000 square feet with a great waterslide. This Resort is perfect if your son is into adventure and animals. It's also gorgeous and themed in such a unique way.
Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort My family loved staying at this Resort as it truly felt like a tropical retreat. My kids especially loved this pool which reminded them of the ride
Pirates of the Caribbean with its two waterslides and water cannons. The kid's water play area is a huge pirate ship with slides and a bucket dumping water. It's one of my favorite kiddie pool areas in all of Walt Disney World Resort! This Resort also has two different
Disney Skyliner Stations that can quickly transport you to EPCOT or Disney's Hollywood Studios with ease.
Pop Century Resort My son especially loves this Resort. There are huge statues of Disney Characters and toys all over this Resort that he loves exploring. This resort does not have a water slide but the main Hippy Dippy Pool has giant flowers that shoot water and then two more pools to enjoy! Sometimes my family will just explore the pools all day! This Value Resort has access to the Disney Skyliner as well which makes it a good option as a base for a birthday trip.
All of the
Walt Disney Resort Hotels are comfortable and will make your little boy happy! Since it's a birthday trip make sure to speak to a Cast Member at the Front Desk and ask for the complimentary "Happy Birthday" button for your son to wear. My daughter wore her birthday pin on her birthday trip every day and made me move it to every shirt as she loved how so many people wished her a "Happy Birthday!" I want to say, celebrating a birthday in Walt Disney World is the best. Make sure to take every picture to remember the moment. We love to purchase Memory Maker before we arrive so that we have unlimited downloads of all the pictures we took during the trip with Disney PhotoPass photographers. It's a great way to memorialize all the happy moments.
I hope this helps and if you have any more questions please feel free to
let me know!
Happy Planning!
