Ahoy there, Rebecca! Thanks for making a return trip to planDisney - so great to see you again! I'm delighted to lend a helping hand to lock down some logistics for your upcoming vacation with
Disney Cruise Line. Let's get right to it!
The DCL
ground transportation is always the way to go, in my opinion. It takes the stress out of your departure day, so you can sit back, let Disney do the driving, and arrive at the port ready to set sail on a practically perfect vacation!
I'm happy to report that there are accessible shuttles available in the DCL fleet that offer ramps or lifts for Guests who use mobility aids. However, not all of the shuttles have these features. With your cruise coming up soon, it's important to book your ground transportation and complete the
Special Services request form. This documentation must be submitted at least 30 days before departure for sailings out of ports in the United States. The form will let you indicate that your mom requires assistance boarding the bus, as well as any other potential issues so that she can participate in your cruise to the fullest!
Rebecca, the DCL website has a section dedicated to information for
Guests with disabilities that I recommend checking out sooner rather than later. This will give you a good idea of what supports are available throughout your sailing that may make everyone more comfortable.
I hope this information is helpful for your planning purposes! Please come see us again at planDisney if we can help with any other questions before you set sail. Wishing you a fun and relaxing cruise, with sunshine, core memories, and plenty of ice cream!
SEA Ya Real Soon!
