Hi! I'm looking forward to book The Campsites at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort just to take advantage of the meal plans, and will be changing hotels as soon as we get in. I wonder if it's permitted to do that.

    Hiya, Diexia! Welcome to planDisney!

When planning a trip to Walt Disney World Resort, one of the main things to budget for is dining. The Disney Dining Plan makes that so easy! It’s such a convenient way to prepay for your meals while you’re staying at Walt Disney World Resort. It’s one less thing to focus on while you’re on vacation, so you can fully immerse yourself in the magic.

To answer your question, Diexia, the Disney Dining Plan is tied to your Disney Resorts Collection hotel reservation as a whole. Unfortunately, this means you would not be able to use the Disney Dining Plan on nights when you are not staying at a Disney Resorts Collection hotel.

The good news is that if you want to add the Disney Dining Plan to your booking, there are so many great resorts to choose from that will accommodate various budgets! Here are a few recommendations based on my experiences. For Deluxe Resorts, Disney’s Wilderness Lodge has lovely theming and great dining options. My personal favorite is Geyser Point Bar & Grill. The Bison Cheeseburger is delicious! For Moderate Resorts, I love Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort, especially the Gran Destino Tower! The lobby is stunning, and again, you’ve got great dining options here as well. Three Bridges Bar and Grill at Villa del Lago offers delicious dining in a beautiful setting at the intersection of three bridges on the Lago Dorado lagoon at the resort. For Value Resorts, I love Disney’s Pop Century Resort. It shares a Disney Skyliner station with Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, so it’s perfectly located for quick access to both Disney’s Hollywood Studios and EPCOT!

I hope this answers your question, Diexia. If you have any other questions as you continue to plan your visit, please don’t hesitate to come back and see us here at planDisney. My fellow panelists and I have years and years of combined experience dining at Walt Disney World. We’d be more than happy to share our expertise with you!

    Bon appétit!
