Welcome back to planDisney, Megan! We're delighted that you've come back for more help with planning an unforgettable trip for your sisters and parents.
Disney’s cancellation policies are pretty straightforward once you know how they work.
If you book a
vacation package that includes your
resort room and
tickets bundled together, you can cancel for a full refund up to 30 days before your arrival. Between 2 and 29 days out, you can still cancel, but there’s a $200 cancellation fee. If you cancel the day before or the day of check-in, unfortunately, the entire package is nonrefundable.
For room-only hotel reservations, the policy is more flexible, as you can usually cancel up to 5 days before your trip without penalty.
As for tickets, once they’re purchased, they’re nonrefundable. The good news is that the value of an unused ticket can be applied toward a future ticket of equal or greater value, so you won’t lose what you’ve paid if your plans shift.
If you need to add or remove people from your reservation, it’s pretty simple. You can usually make changes right in your
My Disney Experience account or by calling Disney. Adding someone may change your room type or price, but removing someone usually just lowers the cost. It’s nice that Disney builds in a little flexibility for families traveling together.
Be sure that everyone in your party has a My Disney Experience account and that you are all linked together in Family and Friends. If you'd like help with connecting those accounts, just let us know, and we'll be happy to help you.
Have a magical time planning this trip for your family. Hope to see you real soon!
Toodles,
Korliss
