Ahoy there, Catherine. Welcome to planDisney and thanks for stopping by with your question for us.
I’m delighted to see you’re planning a Disney Cruise Line sailing out of
Southampton. There are several amazing European itineraries sailing from there; after doing a Western European cruise that ended in Southampton, we’re interested in adding a Norwegian Fjords sailing on our “must-do” list.
If you’re an Anglophile like my daughter (afternoon tea definitely brings her joy!), I suggest arriving to London a couple of days prior to Embarkation Day to allow time for exploration! Whether you’re flying into London Heathrow or London Gatwick Airport, there are several hotels recommended on the
Disney Cruise Line website. Hilton London Gatwick Airport and Sofitel London Heathrow Airport are close to the respective airport if you prefer to stay near there. Travel time between either airport is a little over 30 minutes by train to London’s city center. On the other hand, if you wish to stay within London, JW Marriott Grosvenor House London and London Marriott County Hall are recommended by Disney Cruise Line. Being in the heart of London offers you ease and convenience to check out the city’s highlights before your cruise.
If you book a hotel stay with Disney Cruise Line before or after your Southampton sailing,
ground transportation is available for additional fees between the airport, hotel and cruise port. When you’re ready to book or if you have more specific questions about the accommodation options and pricing, please contact (800) 951-3532 and a Disney Cruise Line representative will gladly assist you.
I hope this information is helpful for you, Catherine. As always, please don’t hesitate to visit us on
planDisney again if you have more trip-planning questions for us.
Hope to "SEA" ya real soon,
Kiki
