Ahoy Mariesha!
Thanks for cruising by planDisney with a great question! It looks like the
Disney Fantasy will be sailing out of
Southampton in August 2025. This is the ship that I first sailed on when I fell in love with Disney cruising and I'm sure you're going to make many magical memories as well!
Mariesha, when making your reservation, you have the option to select your stateroom if you'd like. Like you, my family prefers a
verandah stateroom. The extra outside space allows us to spread out a bit in the room and is the perfect place for a morning cup of coffee or evening cocktail if the kids are sleeping. Did you know
complimentary room service is available so you can even order your coffee and a few light, continental breakfast items delivered to your room to enjoy on your verandah? Plus, you can enjoy some breathtaking views as you are cruising to your next destination - right from your room!
On the Disney Fantasy, I think Deck 8 is one of the best locations, especially if you're seeking a bit of quiet. You'll find the
Oceaneer's Club and
it's a small world nursery! on Deck 5 and the
pools are located on Deck 11. With young kids, I usually like to stay closer to the youth spaces, but those areas of the ship can sometimes be a bit busier. Also, I try to avoid the deck directly below the pool if I can as you can sometimes hear some of the noise from other guests or moving chairs above you. A stateroom on Deck 8 also gives you relatively easy access to all of the activities throughout the ship. With keeping convenience in mind, I usually try to select a room closer to the middle of the ship. Besides the central location, I also don't feel as much motion if we encounter any rougher seas with a centrally located room.
Deck plans for the Disney Fantasy are available to view prior to starting your reservation so you may want to take a bit of time familiarizing yourself with the layout of the ship to determine if there is anything you want to be closer to. . .or further away from!
While entertainment is subject to change, I really hope
Disney's Believe is still showing in the
Walt Disney Theatre when you sail. This is my all-time favorite show when cruising with Disney! It's a heartwarming story of a father's love for his daughter and, while the story is original, you'll also see some of your favorite characters and hear familiar songs. Just don't forget to grab some tissues before the show starts - you'll need them at the end!
Mariesha, I hope this information is helpful as you start to plan your Disney Cruise Line vacation for next summer! If you have any other questions as you're planning, please consider "dropping anchor" again here at planDisney to see me or any of my panelist pals - we're all ears!
Cheers,
Kristi
