I’m looking to book a vacation package and make payments. It says have to be paid fully 30 days prior but what if I’m late on making my final payment will they cancel my trip ?

Hey, howdy, hey, Bristan and welcome to planDisney. I am grateful you stopped by with your question. So, like Li Shang from Disney's animated classic Mulan sings, "Let's get down to business."

Yes, Disney will cancel your Disney Vacation Package if you do not pay off the balance in full 30 days prior to your check-in date. For a Disney Vacation Package, if you cancel within 2 to 29 days of your arrival date, there is a $200 penalty per room, plus any cancellation fees assessed by other suppliers. If you need to cancel your reservation 1 day prior to your arrival, the vacation package is non-refundable. As a reminder, when canceling your vacation package reservation, it is important to cancel any other reservations such as dining, tours or recreation as well.

I recommend contacting Walt Disney World Resort by phone and speaking with a cast member about your specific situation if you know you will be unable to pay off the balance. An option I have used in the past is to move the reservation to a different date. You may still incur some penalties but Cast Members are very magical and will do whatever they can to save you money. To cancel or modify your reservation, please call Disney Travel Operations at 407-560-CHAT (2428).

Please know that if you use a third party agent you will need to go through them to cancel your Disney Vacation Package and all deadlines remain the same.

planDisney Pro Tip: Another option I have done is to book a room-only reservation. Room-only reservations require a deposit equal to one night stay at your Disney Resorts Hotel Collection with the balance due upon arrival. For a room-only reservation, you may cancel 5 or more days prior to your arrival to avoid penalty. This may be the best option for you if you need flexibility.

Bristan, I hope this information helps you. Please write me back directly with any follow-up questions about your Disney adventure in June.

    Enjoy making many Magical Memories.
