I'm a little worried about how to properly use the transportation systems to get to and from hotels and parks. We are staying at the Port Orleans, and have ADR at other hotels. I don't want to waste time by getting on the wrong bus at the parks.

    Hi Samantha,

Welcome to the Moms Panel!  I totally understand where you are coming from, the transportation system, although very efficient, appears extremely intimidating!  You'll be happy to hear that every bus stop has very good signage every step of the way to ensure you get to your destination efficiently.  There will be a signs at the entrance to the bus loading area with bus stop numbers and their applicable destination.  Simply find the resort you wish to go to, and head to the bus stop that corresponds.  The numbered bus stops also have signage indicating which resort they service.

As a double check, every bus runs a marquee in their front and side window indicating where they are headed, so be sure that the bus that pulls up to your loading area is headed to to the same place you are.  If you are still unsure, or just want to confirm simply ask the bus driver before you board the bus.

Keep in mind that there is not resort-to-resort bus service, so you will have to return to a theme park or Downtown Disney after your meal and get on a bus for the resort you are staying at.

It may be helpful to do a little research before you leave for your vacation.  I like to visit www.ourlaughingplace.com because they have a handy "transport wizard" at the bottom of their page that allows you to select a starting point and destination within Walt Disney World.  It will then calculate the various transportation options along with approximate travel times.

    Hope this helps!
