Hi there, Robert!
From one Walt Disney World Annual Passholder to another, welcome to planDisney. No doubt, there have been many rule changes since I became a part of this Mickey Mouse Club (i.e. having an annual pass). Let’s get right into what you need to know about Annual Passholders and our park hopping plans.
Guests with a valid theme park admission with a Park Hopper Option (this includes us Annual Passholders) can park hop at any time of the day now. As long as it’s not a
blockout date and you’ve entered your reserved theme park first, you’re free to park hop as you please—even if it’s before 2 p.m. So, live it up at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park, and get your fill of nostalgia at Magic Kingdom Park afterwards (unless it has hit capacity).
If the theme park that you want to park hop to has reached capacity, you’ll see a pop-up message about it in the
My Disney Experience App. As you know, a theme park reaching maximum capacity is rare, but it can happen.
I think that a part of some Guests’ confusion with the process is that there is another rule that involves 2 p.m. for Annual Passholders. Those with annual passes can tap into the magic at any theme park after 2 p.m. without needing a theme park reservation. But the exception is Magic Kingdom Park on the weekends, which would still require a theme park reservation.
AN EXTRA GEM: While you’re taking a walk on the wild side at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park, head over to Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures and scan your annual pass to get the current
Annual Passholder magnet—featuring Timon & Pumbaa! Any adults in your party should be ready to show a government-issued photo identification card in order to get your hands on one of these complimentary magnets.
Robert, if you have any other questions about your many visits to The Most Magical Place on Earth,
revisit us here at planDisney. Any of the panelists will be more than happy to lend a Mickey hand.
Magic always,
LeAndra
