HI, I'm leaving in May 2008 and staying for 11 days. We are staying off grounds in a vacation home. How much money should I allow for food daily? We have 4 kids (ages 14,13,10,10) and 3 adults. We haven't been since 2001 so I'm sure the prices have changed

    Hi Darla,
It's difficult to figure out how much each family should budget for meals. Some families have breakfast in their rooms (or vacation homes) which is a great time and money saver. Other families will be happy with a quick counter service meal and some love to have sit down meals.

What I would suggest is that you visit the menus at allearsnet.com. Scroll through the menus and print out any that might interest everyone in your party. If you will be having breakfast in your vacation home or a granola bar on the run, then you can just look at lunch and dinner menus.

Visiting the menus will allow you to figure out an estimated budget. Can anyone share a meal? Can you save money by having a sit down lunch instead of dinner?

I'm not sure what your touring itinerary looks like but if you plan on going back to your vacation home for a mid-day rest you may be able to have a late lunch or early dinner there.

Check out the menus and then let us know if we can help further. Your 11-day trip sounds fantastic!
