Lightning Lanes are a great (and convenient) way to experience Walt Disney World Resort attractions! My family tries to maximize our Lightning Lane Multi Pass usage to save as much time as possible when visiting the Disney Parks!
I recall two times when my family was late for a Lightning Lane “call back” time. Once was just by a few minutes, the other time was a little more significant. On both occasions, the Cast Members at the attractions allowed us to ride without any problem. While a Cast Member does reserve the right to deny entry due to not reporting during your “call back” window, it is rare. As long as “conditions” allow a late entry, the Cast Members will always try to accommodate. In a situation of rare circumstances or tight operational requirements, a Cast Member could deny access if it is beyond your window.
So, while I would never count on “always” being allowed to ride if arriving late, the Cast Member will accommodate you if they can. If you arrive late, a polite explanation to the Cast Member will go a long way!
