Hello there, Kevin, and welcome back to planDisney! It's always a joy to help fellow adventurers map out their trip to the magic. You know, there's a special kind of buzz around Disneyland Park when guests like you are getting ready for a visit—I wouldn't be surprised if Tinker Bell's pixie dust trail sparkles just a little more brightly knowing you're heading to the Happiest Place on Earth soon to join the fun!
Thinking about what to wear is such a delightful part of the planning journey, isn't it? Deciding on the perfect park look really helps build the excitement for stepping right onto Main Street, U.S.A.!
When it comes to arriving in full character costumes, there are important
Disneyland Resort apparel guidelines to be aware of: For Guests ages 14 and older, wearing full costumes is not permitted inside the theme parks during regular operating hours. This helps maintain the immersive storybook setting for all visitors and ensures the official Disney Characters truly stand out for those wonderful greetings and photos. However, costumes are often permitted for Guests 14 years and older during special, separately-ticketed nighttime events, like the popular Oogie Boogie Bash. Keep an eye on the details pages for those events as they get closer for more info!
But don't you worry, Kevin, this is where your creativity can truly sparkle (like your pal, Tinker Bell)! A fantastic way to share your Disney enthusiasm is through themed apparel—and you're more than welcome to wear your favorite character shirts, sweatshirts, or hats from home! It’s always fun seeing personal Disney style shine in the parks. Of course, should you want to add a special wearable souvenir during your trip, the Disneyland Resort also has an awesome selection to explore. I’m a big fan of the
Create Your Own Headband collection. You'll often find these delightful stations in a couple of locations around the parks. You can select your headband and then mix and match from a wide array of mini plush accessories. It’s a fun way to create headwear that’s perfectly you and makes for a fantastic, one-of-a-kind souvenir!
And Kevin, knowing that Tinker Bell is your favorite, I have some wonderful news! You can often meet this famous fairy right in Disneyland Park, which is always a magical treat. Normally, you'd flutter over to find her in her delightful home,
Pixie Hollow, nestled near the Matterhorn Bobsleds in Disneyland Park. However, it seems Tink and her friends are busy adding a little extra sparkle to their nook right now! Pixie Hollow is currently closed as of the time I’m writing this while it undergoes a magical refurbishment. But don't worry! Tinker Bell is quite resourceful and you just might spot her greeting visitors around other areas of the park. Your best bet is to check the
Disneyland mobile app during your visit. Just tap the map pin icon in the bottom menu of the app, then tap the “Characters” button. You’ll be able to see where Tinker Bell and other beloved characters are expected to appear throughout the day.
I hope these tips help you get ready for all the fun that awaits, Kevin! From crafting the perfect park look that shows off your Disney favorites (especially Tinker Bell!) to hopefully sharing a moment with her in person, it sounds like a truly magical trip is on the horizon. Wishing you the happiest time imaginable at the Disneyland Resort, and please remember we're always here at planDisney if more questions pop up!
