Hi I’m Janessa and I graduated high school last year. I want to become a mechanical engineer at Disney and I’ve heard it’s part of the Disney imagineer. Is it a possible way to meet someone who does that line of work?

    Hey there Janessa!

It’s so nice to see you here visiting us at planDisney, welcome. A huge congratulations to you for your academic accomplishments! I’m so excited for you, and just like Moana was, you sound extremely eager to see just how far you’ll go!

You and my younger sister share a similar dream. After spending our Friday nights watching shows like The Imagineering Story and Into the Unknown: Making Frozen II, she too finds herself dreaming of working for the Walt Disney Company.

Even though you may not find someone in that direct line of work I encourage you to talk to any and every Cast Member you come across. Their stories are so unique and hEARing all about their dreams and passions is an excellent way of discovering what you may want to do. I also encourage you to look out for any exclusive presentations given by Imagineers like the one occurring on March 26, 2021

I also encourage you to keep up with the Disney Programs page on Twitter. That’s where you will find any information on Disney Internships & Programs, which I would encourage you to do, once they return. It’s the perfect way to experience the possible career path you may want to embark on.

Janessa, I hope this helps you prepare for this incredible voyage. Please let us know if there’s anything else we can help with.

    Good luck Wayfinder!
