Hi! I’m interested in getting an annual and I was wondering if I can go any day for my first visit or do I need to make a reservation?

    Hey Kristen!
    Welcome to planDisney!
I see you’re thinking about becoming a Magic Key holder at the Happiest Place on Earth. With four choices available, you are sure to find one that works for you. I noticed that you’re from California and there is an option for Southern California residents living in zip Codes 90000 to 93599. No matter which pass you choose, you’ll get reservation based submission to one or both theme parks and even some benefits like discounts on select merchandise and dining.
In the past, you could visit on any day and purchase an Annual Passport. The Magic Key program is a bit different. Your first day must be a day that is available on the Magic Key Access Calendar for the Magic Key that you purchased. Your first visit cannot be on a block out day. You will need to purchase your Magic Key and then make a theme park reservation for your first visit. It won’t actually become active until you scan into the park or do you use the parking benefit which would then be your anniversary date.
Well Kristen, let us know if you have any other Magic Key questions.
Remember, always believe in the Magic!
