Hi Alton, and welcome to planDisney. What an incredible way to ring in the new year and celebrate your wife’s birthday at the same time. A New Year’s Day birthday trip to
Walt Disney World sounds like a memory in the making.
To your question, yes, Walt Disney World typically offers special fireworks on New Year’s Eve, most notably at
Magic Kingdom Park and
EPCOT. Both parks usually present not one but two showings of their nighttime spectaculars, with an earlier performance in the evening and another right before midnight. Because New Year’s Eve is one of the most popular days of the year to visit, crowd levels and even park capacity limits can come into play, especially at Magic Kingdom and EPCOT. If experiencing the fireworks in person from inside the park is a must-do for you, I recommend arriving early and planning to stay all day. It can be a long stretch, but building in some table service meals will give you a chance to recharge and enjoy a slower pace for an hour or two.
If spending the entire day and night in the park doesn’t sound appealing, you could always make a dinner reservation at a restaurant with fireworks views.
California Grill at Disney’s Contemporary Resort and
Narcoossee’s at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa are both fantastic options. Another one of my favorites is heading to Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. You can grab a cocktail from
Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto or Trader Sam’s Tiki Terrace, then enjoy the fireworks right from the beach along Seven Seas Lagoon. The atmosphere is hard to beat and can be just as memorable as being inside the park itself.
Since you’re celebrating such a special occasion, I also suggest looking into the
Enchanting Extras Collection. These are bookable experiences like fireworks dessert parties, private tours, and unique activities that can add an extra layer of celebration to your trip.
Alton, I hope this helps you start shaping what sounds like an unforgettable way to celebrate both New Year’s Eve and your wife’s big day. If you’d like more tailored recommendations, such as which
Disney Resort to call home, dining reservations I’d suggest prioritizing, or experiences that would make the birthday feel even more special, please swing back by planDisney.
I’d be happy to share my thoughts.
See you real soon!
