I’m interested in doing the dessert party at Magic Kingdom only thing is I found 3 dessert parties and I would like to know what’s the difference between all three?

    Hi Pamela,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I am so happy you are asking about one of the delightful fireworks dessert parties at Magic Kingdom Park. My friends and family know I love a good dessert party and Happily Ever After is an amazing show! After a long day enjoying attractions in the parks, it's so nice to enjoy some tasty desserts and a fantastic view of a nighttime spectacular.

Let's start with the Fireworks Dessert Party at Tomorrowland Terrace. This party is on the lower level of the Tomorrowland Terrace Restaurant. After you check-in for the party, you will be shown to a reserved table. You can enjoy an array of sweet desserts and savory treats. You are seated at a table for most of this party. Some of those seated toward the back will move forward to an open section of the railing for a better view of the fireworks. Your view of Cinderella Castle is not centered but you do have a spectacular view of everyone's favorite fairy as she flies overhead.

Next is the Fireworks Dessert Party with Plaza Garden Viewing. This party takes place on the upper level of the Tomorrowland Terrace Restaurant. When you check-in, a Cast Member will show you to a table. You are encouraged to take your time and enjoy the delicious offerings which are all similar to those available at the other parties. The main difference with this party is when the time for the fireworks show approaches, you will be led to the Plaza Garden Viewing area. Your view of Cinderella Castle is perfectly centered. The Plaza Garden Viewing is a standing area.

Finally, we have the After-Fireworks Dessert Party. (Spoiler alert, this is my favorite party.) When you check in for the After-Fireworks Party, a Cast Member will escort you to the Plaza Garden Viewing area. You will be in this area with guests who are attending the Fireworks Dessert Party with Plaza Garden Viewing. I don't think you can beat the view of Cinderella Castle. After the fireworks show has finished, you will go back to the Tomorrowland Terrace Restaurant to enjoy those delicious desserts and savory snacks.

The biggest differences between the dessert parties are the view of Cinderella Castle, whether you sit or stand during the fireworks, and whether you enjoy your desserts and snacks before or after the fireworks. We love the view from the Plaza Garden Viewing area and don't mind standing. We are big fans of enjoying our desserts while many guests are leaving the parks. Even if the park is closing later, many people choose to leave after the fireworks. By the time we have finished at the party, Main Street, U.S.A. is much less crowded. If you or anyone in your party enjoys a glass of wine or beer, you'll be pleased to know they have recently added a selection of fine wine and beer to the parties.

Pamela, thank you for visiting us with your question. I hope you'll let me know if I can help you further with dessert parties or any other planning questions you may have.
    Wishing you a magical vacation,
    Amy H.
