Hi Jackson,
Welcome to planDisney, and thank you for stopping by with your question. It sounds like this may be your very first visit to the
Most Magical Place on Earth, and I couldn’t be more excited for you and your son! There is truly so much to experience throughout all four theme parks, from thrilling attractions and world-class dining to immersive lands like Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and
Pandora – The World of Avatar. And since you’ll be visiting in December, you’re in for some extra magic. The holiday season at Walt Disney World Resort is filled with beautiful decorations, festive entertainment, seasonal treats, and special nighttime spectaculars that bring a one-of-a-kind experience to every park.
When it comes to purchasing tickets, the good news is that everything you need can be handled right from your computer or mobile device using your
My Disney Experience account. On your computer, visit the Walt Disney World website and navigate to the
Tickets & Parks section. Select "Theme Park Tickets" and follow the prompts to choose the number of days, number of Guests, and the dates you’d like to visit. On the
My Disney Experience mobile app, tap the plus sign at the bottom center of the screen, then select “Buy Tickets and Passes” to begin the process.
Based on what you’ve described, a 4-Day, One Park Per Day ticket seems to be the best match for your plans. If you're looking for a little extra flexibility, you might consider upgrading to the Park Hopper option, which allows you to start your day in one park and hop over to another. It’s a great way to revisit a favorite experience or catch an evening show at a different park without being tied to a single destination all day.
Another option worth considering is the current
Special Offers, Deals & Discounts page. Right now, there is a 3-Day, 3-Park ticket available, which includes admission to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, EPCOT, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom at a discounted rate. Although this is currently only for visits through September 22 of this year, something similar could pop up that covers your dates. If it does and it’s a good fit, you could pair that ticket with a one-day Park Hopper to include a visit to Magic Kingdom and still have the flexibility to return to one of the other three parks in the evening.
Once your tickets are secured, you may want to explore purchasing
Lightning Lane access. These passes allow you to bypass the standby lines at select attractions, saving you time and helping you make the most of your park days. There are several options available: Single Lightning Lane Passes for the most in-demand rides, the Multi Pass for planning up to three experiences in advance, or the Premier Pass, which grants you one Lightning Lane pass per Lightning Lane attraction. It's a great way to tailor your experience and minimize wait times, especially during the busy holiday season.
I hope this gives you a good starting point, Jackson. If you’d like more help mapping out your itinerary or narrowing down your ticket options, feel free to reach back out. You know where to find me.
I'm only a question away.
