Welcome to planDisney, Dennis! This is such a curioser and curioser question about paint colors, I've been trying to chip away at it. I even got a few Cast Members into the adventure, and we wandered - and wondered - through some rabbit holes.
Like painting the roses red, I can tell you it: it's not pink, not green, not aquamarine. Beyond those keen insights, you have me and the Cast Members stymied. There are lists for just about everything, but you've imagined beyond what has been thought to have been captured. In my search for information, I found PPG is the official paint and color partner of
Walt Disney World Resort. The best advice I have is to make another visit to the Magic Kingdom and bring a sheet of bright white paper and your phone/camera. Take a picture with the paper against the yellow, and a paint shop should be able to match it pretty closely, if not practically perfect in every way
(mixing movie quotes, just like color, to paint the picture). You may also want to see if there is a paint store in your area that sells PPG, just for that touch of Disney connection.
On your next visit, you may also enjoy the chance to pick up a brush and make a masterpiece of Disney of your own. The
Colors of Coronado Painting Experience is offered weekly at
Disney's Coronado Springs Resort. It is a little bit of different pace for your Disney vacation, but it's a chance to put your painting skills to work with a magical flair.
I regret the answer to your question is beyond the looking glass. Please come back to
planDisney with any other inquiries, and we can see if we can make your very merry un-birthday wishes come true.
We're all mad here,
Jana
