Hello all! I'm hoping someone can compare best/worst features between Port Orleans Riverside and Caribbean Beach. Our daughter will be 7 and our son will be almost 5 when we make our next trip. Thanks!

I've stayed at both so hopefully I can offer you some useful information.  Both resorts offer a lot of the same amenities like sit-down restaurants, fun themed pools, and marinas with lots of recreational opportunities available.  Obviously the theming is different and part of your decision will likely be based on which appeals more to you: the island feel, or backwoods charm.

Let's talk about Port Orleans Riverside first. It's no secret that I love this resort. Grounds are gorgeous. Love watching my kids marvel at the ducks as they wonder ashore from the Sassagoula River. I love walking to the French Quarter for beignets. I love the ability to enjoy a drink at the end of the day in the lounge with my husband. I love the horse-drawn carriage rides that can be taken at Port Orleans Riverside.

Moving on now, I can tell you what I love about the Caribbean Beach Resort. I love the steel drum island music that they play throughout the resort. I love the colorful buildings and room decor. I love the overall beachy feel that of this resort.  Though I haven't seen them yet, I know how much I would love the new pirate themed rooms that will be coming soon to this resort.

Now, let's get down to the nitty gritty comparisons.
-the food court at Caribbean Beach beats that of Port Orleans Riverside (in my humble opinion of course).
-the ambience at Port Orleans Riverside beats that of Caribbean Beach (again, just me talking here).
-I prefer the layout at Port Orleans.  I feel like things are too spread out at Caribbean Beach Resort.

Both resorts really are wonderful and I don't think you'll be sorry for choosing either. It's tough to come up with "worst" features because I truly enjoyed my stay at each. Just take this things into consideration and decide which "feel" your family would most appreciate. Hope I've helped!
