Hi Jason!
Welcome aboard the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Your question made me laugh! I'm honored to be included in your family's discussion about your upcoming
Halloween on the High Seas Disney Cruise! You guys are in for a treat (... and trick) because this spooktacular cruise is filled with fun! Pack your costumes and get ready to have a blast during Mickey's Mouse-querade Party!
At this time, U.S. citizens setting sail on a Disney Cruise from a U.S. port of call, and retuning to that same U.S. port of call, do not need a valid passport. If you'll be leaving from Port Canaveral and returning there after your voyage to paradise concludes, the adults in your family will need a government-issued photo I.D. (like a driver's license) and a state-issued birth certificate as proof of U.S. citizenship. If you have any children traveling with you under the age of 16, they will just need a state-issued birth certificate. When you have a moment prior to your cruise, take a look at the
Passports & Travel Documentation information found on Disney Cruise Line's website so you'll have the most up-to-date information!
Jason, even though Disney Cruise Line does not require passports for every itinerary, it's still a great idea for each person in your family to bring one along. On the off chance there's an emergency while visiting a port of call and you need to fly home, you'll be able to board a plane and fly home quickly if you each have a passport.
I hope I was able to help you and your family while you plan for your high-seas adventure! If you have any future questions, please sail back and visit us again!
