I'm hoping to build or buy lightsaber on my upcoming trip. My question is for after I've purchased the lightsaber. If I build it the morning, will I be able to bring it back into the park later in the day, after taking a break outside the park?

Galactic Greetings to you, Paige, and thanks for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I’m so excited for your upcoming travels to a galaxy far, far away!

I recently checked with a Cast Member at a security checkpoint, and was told that you shouldn’t have a problem returning to the Disneyland Resort theme parks with your lightsaber. I recommend checking the Disneyland Resort Rules before your visit in case anything changes in the meantime, but I don’t anticipate this being an issue. If you prefer not to carry your lightsaber around, you can also rent a locker and store it there during your Disney day. Lockers are located inside both theme parks and on The Esplanade, which is near the Picnic area, just outside the Disneyland Park Main Entrance.

I can’t wait for you to check out Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge in just a few weeks! If you plan on building your own lightsaber, don’t forget to make a reservation for Savi’s Workshop – Handbuilt Lightsabers. Currently, reservations can be made up to 14 days in advance of your visit. Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities is another great spot to find kyber crystals and famous lightsabers, too!

What trip to Batuu would be complete without building a droid? If you’re thinking about building a custom astromech droid unit at Droid Depot, you can make a reservation 14 days in advance. All that building is going to make you thirsty, so you may also want to make a reservation for the local watering hole, Oga’s Cantina! Check out the fun menu -- my son enjoyed the Blue Bantha, and I loved the Bespin Fizz!

Last but not least, don’t forget to download the Play Disney Parks app, which will make your trip to Batuu even more interactive and personalized!

Wishing you safe travels on your thrilling galactic journey, and may the Force be with you!
