Hi, Joshua! Or as they say on the planet Batuu, "Bright suns!"
I'm so excited to hear that you'll soon be headed to a galaxy far, far away! At
Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, Guests can live out their very own
Star Wars adventure as they explore Black Spire Outpost on the remote, outer rim planet of Batuu. During your visit, you might have the opportunity to pilot the
Millennium Falcon, enjoy a drink at
Oga's Cantina, or even be recruited to
join the Resistance as they take on the First Order. Any of these experiences would be a dream come true for a Star Wars fan, however, another activity might be of particular interest to an aspiring Jedi.
In a secret location, hidden away from the First Order,
Savi's Workshop - Handbuilt Lightsabers invites Guests to build their own custom lightsabers and continue the way of the Force. Not only will you be able to travel back to your home planet with an epic souvenir, but visiting Savi's Workshop will also be a truly moving and special experience for fans of Star Wars. I'm sure you'll want some photos and videos to look back on your trip to Savi's Workshop. Just make sure that those photos and videos don't fall into the hands of the First Order!
Space inside Savi's Workshop is limited, so you won't be able to bring any large photography equipment inside, but recording a video on your phone is perfectly fine. Each lightsaber builder is permitted to bring one additional Guest along with them to Savi's Workshop, so my suggestion is to bring a friend or family member along with you. Your Guest can then record a video for you as you construct your lightsaber.
Once you're finished building your custom lightsaber, keep an eye out for the
Disney PhotoPass photographers who can often be found throughout Black Spire Outpost. They will be happy to take some photos, or "data scans" as they're called on Batuu, of you with your new lightsaber.
May the Force be with you!
Samantha
